U8's Hawks in 7 - 7 thriller !

In a tightly contested match between our U8 Hawks and Shield Academy, there was little to separate the teams in what turned out to be a thrilling game to watch. Shield Academy started the brighter by taking an early lead before Byron's man of the match Riley equalized shortly afterwards. Shield then scored a two more goals to race in to a 3-1 lead before Byron pegged them back to 3-3 at half time.

The 2nd half started with both teams playing a little more cautiously with soe great tackles going in to break up the play. The Hawks continued to try and play from the back and showed some great passing before a flurry of goals that can only be described as 'world class' ! The lead changed hands a number of times with Shield's star man a continuous threat with his powerful long range shots including one scored from his own penalty box. But the Hawks were not giving up and they scored a number of great goals themselves including a thumping shot from Teddie into the top right hand corner. Special mentions need to go out to Frank who went in goal for the 2nd half and pulled off a number of great saves and the Man of the match Riley who put in a stunning display and finished off with 6 goals.

Hawks team: Matthew, Luke, William, Frank, Riley and Teddie.
